IFFK regional edition at Nilambur

37 films to be screened in 5 days

The regional edition of the 19th International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK) will begin in Nilambur on Friday. Thirty-seven world movies will be screened at the five-day festival to be held at the two halls of Fairlyland Theatre.

The regional edition of the IFFK was brought to Nilambur jointly by the Nilambur Municipality and the Kerala Chalachitra Academy.

Minister for Transport and Forest Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan will inaugurate the festival on Friday evening. Bengali director Buddhadeb Dasgupta will be the chief guest. There will be a photo exhibition throwing light on the cinema life of Prem Nazir. Of the 37 films, all of which were screened at the IFFK, Thiruvananthapuram, 13 are Indian films, the rest international. There are five Iranian films. The film Madhyavenal will be screened to honour Madhu Kaithapram.
