ALLAHABAD: Mayor Abhilasha Gupta had a first hand experience of Allahabad Municipal Corporation’s callous approach towards basic amenities in Mumfordganj. During an inspection of the area on Thursday, she was greeted by piles of garbage all around the area. Later, the residents also complained about absence of cleanliness and other facilities. Mayor Abhilasha Gupta instructed the health officer PK Singh to make arrangements for cleanliness in the area of Mumfodganj on Friday.
Gang of sanitary staff be deployed in the area and ensure comprehensive cleanliness. She also instructed Jal Sansthan general manager to undertake repair of damaged water pipelines and leakage of the water tank in Mumfordganj. In fact, piles of garbage were found littered on several streets of the locality. The drains were found broken and filled with silt. Residents complained that erratic lifting of garbage had led to the problem. Besides, culvert in front of house number 302 was found broken. The lane adjacent to it was filled with garbage and debris. Leakage was also found in the water tank of Jal Sansthan. Heaps of cow dung and garbage were found in front of Jwala Devi Balika Inter College. There was also uncleanliness in the park located in front of the school. Further, garbage was also found at the telephone office at Patrika Marg.
