Fahad Samar launches his second novel titled ‘Flash Point’

After the success of his first novel ‘Scandal Point’ in the Mumbai Trilogy, filmmaker Fahad Samar launched his second novel ‘Flash Point’ at an event in Mumbai.

Flash Point is a thriller set in the world of the Mumbai paparazzi and the central character Zeeshan Haq is a young red carpet photographer who aspires to vault over the red velvet rope and become a successful fashion photographer someday.
Talking about his latest book, Samar said, “This was my small tribute to these chroniclers of the red carpet who have spent a lifetime shooting celebrities and who had 150 of Mumbai's movers and shakers now clicking them in a touching role-reversal."
Actor R. Madhavan said, “Throughout the book, I kept trying to figure out who the characters are and I think I managed to figure out a few. The book was full of twists and turns and tongue-in-cheek humour.”
Actor Kabir Bedi, who had attended the book launch event, was all praises for Samar as he said, “I am delighted to be here for Fahad’s book launch as he is a truly gifted writer and an amazing chronicler of our times. Fahad's book is from the perspective of a press photographer, no one usually bothers about the paparazzi's point of view but it is the press photographer that makes celebrities immortal."
On her part, Tisca Chopra said, “I had immensely enjoyed Samar’s first book ‘Scandal Point’ and I am sure that the second book will be as interesting.”
At the book launch event, ace lensman Atul Kasbekar had shot formal but fun portraits of 8 well-known Mumbai press photographers posing on the red carpet, who were also felicitated at the event while Kabir Bedi invited the celebs at the event to click photos of the shutter-bugs with their mobile phones, much to their delight.
The book launch event was attended by celebs like R. Madhavan, Tisca Chopra, Simone Singh, Sanjeeda Shaikh, Madhoo, Kabir Bedi, Rohit Roy, Atul Kasbekar, Satish Shah, Kamal Sidhu, Ayub Khan, Queenie Singh, Vatsal Sheth, Anaita Adajania Shroff, Tasneem Mehta, Ashwini Kakkad, Farah Oomerbhoy, Chetan Jaikishen, Gayatri Rangachari Shah, Nonita Kalra, Dipika Kewlaramani Roy, Bijal and Hetal Meswani, Ahmed Javed, Shunali Shroff, Kaveri Khullar and others.
