Ajit Club registers victory over Young Star in Sr Hockey tourney

JAMMU, Feb 18: Ajit Hockey Club, Gole Gujral defeated Young Star Hockey Club, Simbal Camp by four goals to one (4-1) in the ongoing District Jammu Senior Hockey Tournament, being organized by Hockey J&K and sponsored by J&K State Sports Council at KK Hakhu Astroturf Hockey Stadium, here.
Earlier, the players of both the teams played brilliantly and displayed superb offensive and defensive skills in the initial stage of the game as Balmeet Singh of Ajit Club scored a goal in 6th minute and Robin Singh scored an equalizer for Young Star Club in 8th minute. But after the second goal of the match, Ajit Club dominated the game in all the departments and succeded in scoring back to back goals to finally win the match by (4-1). Jagjeet Singh pelted the goal in 14th minute, followed by the goals scored by Balmeet Singh and Gurpreet Singh in 37th and 45th minutes.
The match was officiated by Manjeet Singh, Amarjeet Singh, Joginder, Satbir Singh, Jagjot Singh, MS Reen and G S Bakshi.
Now, the semifinals position has been cleared in the Tournament and in the semifinals to be played tomorrow, Ajit Club Gole Gujral will take on Hiranagar Hockey Club, while MBS Simbal Camp will face Zorawar Hockey Club.
