Rosaiah lauds Jayalalithaa

February 18, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:32 am IST - CHENNAI:

In his address to the Assembly, Governor K. Rosaiah placed on record his heartfelt appreciation of (former Chief Minister) Jayalalithaa for her “untiring efforts to secure the legitimate rights of the State in river water disputes.”

He said, “It is only because of her perseverance and courage that the State could secure a historic verdict from the Supreme Court declaring the Mullaperiyar dam as hydrologically, structurally and seismically safe, thereby enabling the State of Tamil Nadu to raise the water level to 142 feet.”
