Stephen Marandi's aide shot at in Dumka

DUMKA: Unidentified miscreants shot at Amit Dey, a close aide of former deputy chief minister and JMM's Maheshpur MLA Stephen Marandi, late on Tuesday. Dey, who belongs to Rasikpur locality in Dumka, was taken to the sadar hospital, where doctors referred him to a hospital in Durgapur (West Bengal) considering his severe nature of injury. Dey's condition however is now reported to be out of danger
Police said Dey was outside his house when he was shot at his wrist by one of the three unidentified criminals who reached there on a bike.Marandi spoke to Dumka SP Anup T Mathew over phone from Ranchi over the matter and called for immediate arrest of the criminals.
Officer in-charge of the town police station Deovrat Poddar said no breakthrough in connection with the attack was made so far. "Dey's family members have denied enmity with anyone, although there were some issues over land, which is being investigated" Poddar said.
