The annual fest of the Xavier's Institute of Social Service (XISS) kicked off amid much fanfare and hoopla on Wednesday.

RANCHI: The annual fest of the Xavier's Institute of Social Service (XISS) kicked off amid much fanfare and hoopla on Wednesday. The three-day extravaganza, Panache, will see an enthusiastic participation of students from several other colleges in the state.
The inaugural day's proceedings started with a blood donation camp on the college campus. The camp collected 200 units of blood, the organizers said.
Next in line was politico mania, where young managers showcased their talents as a 'neta', in created political arena.

Apart from XISS, students of St Xavier's College, National University for Study and Research in Law (NUSRL) and Birla Institute of Technology (BIT) Lalpur participated in the event. Students also took part in Cross Road - a mock game show along the lines of popular television series Roadies.
In the evening, the campus premises came alive as seven-city based bands strummed the chords and cranked up the volume in the 'Battle of Bands'.
The second day promises an interesting lineup of events. However, the proceedings will begin at dawn, when students will run a three-kilometre mini marathon from the college campus to Rajender Chowk in Doranda.
Fashion shows, quiz competitions are lined up later in the day, followed by a guest performance by Underground Authority- a Kolkata based band.
