BHOPAL: Madhya Pradesh police on Wednesday resorted to use of force to disperse the Youth Congress activists, who were marching towards the state assembly to highlight their demand for resignation of the governor Ram Naresh Yadav and the chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan for their alleged involvement in the professional examination board scam.
Earlier the congress legislative party boycotted governor’s customary address on the first day of budget session, saying that they cannot listen to the address of a scam accused in the august House.

The demonstration was led by senior Congress leaders including Arun Yadav, Jitu Patwari and P C Sharma. Police fired water cannon and used lathi charge to control the situation. Some of the party workers were arrested.
The opposition Congress has been seeking Yadav's resignation since role of his son Shailesh Yadav in MPPEB scam surfaced in the chargesheet filed by Special Task Force.
On Monday senior Congress leaders, including Digvijay Singh, Kamal Nath, Jyotiraditya Scindia, Suresh Pachouri, PCC President Arun Yadav and Leader of Opposition in state Assembly Satyadev Katare had demanded a CBI probe into the scam and Chouhan's resignation. They attacked Chouhan alleging that the original excel sheet seized from a computer was tampered to shield him and his family.
