Woman gang-raped by four in E Champaran village

MOTIHARI: A married woman of Kawalpur under Turkauliya police station in East Champaran district was waylaid and gang-raped on Monday by four persons of the same village. The woman had gone out to attend the nature’s call. She had come to her father’s place from West Champaran recently.
The father of the woman has lodged a case in this regard against four persons-Zahir Ansari, Firoj Alam, Sheikh Alek and Mustaq Alam-of the same village who were identified by the victim.However, the named accused are yet to be arrested by police, who are investigating the case .The victim was brought to Mothari sadar hospital for medical test and the medical report is awaited by the police.
Tension prevails at the village following the incident as the accused are moving freely. A complaint in this regard has been sent to the State Women Commission by the victim with the help of an NGO in which she has demanded immediate action against the accused. Several women groups have demanded immediate action by police in this case and threatened to launch an agitation if the accused are not arrested at the earliest.
Man beaten to death: Hareram Baitha 35, a Tola Sevak, was beaten to death by a mob of villagers on Sunday night. The body was recovered by police near his village Kharkatwa under Ramgarhwa police station on Monday.
