As part of dengue prevention efforts, a discussion on dengue and distribution of Siddha concoction ‘Nilavembu Kudineer’ were organised at Chairman Manicka Vasagam School here by the Rotary Club of Devakottai on Saturday.

Revenue Divisional Officer of Devakottai Chidambaram inaugurated the distribution of ‘Nilavembu Kudineer’ to students.

In his address, Pari, Siddha doctor, explained how dengue could be prevented by keeping the surroundings clean.

He also created awareness of the Siddha concoctions available for improving immunity of the body.

Since one female mosquito had the potential to lay 12,000 eggs, prevention of mosquito breeding would go a long way in protecting people against not only dengue, but also other common ailments, he said.

L. Chokkalingam, Headmaster, welcomed the participants.

Murugan, president, Rotary Club of Devakottai, presided over the function.

Muthulakshmi, teacher, proposed a vote of thanks.
