Survey to be held prior to route restructuring

February 18, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:38 am IST - Kozhikode:

Regional Town Planner K.V. Abdul Malik has said a household survey will be conducted to modify the existing bus routes in the city.

The project titled, “Bus Routing for Calicut Urban Area” will cover the households from Vadakara to Ramanattukara in the district as well as the eastern sides of the district such as Kunnamangalam and Mukkom. The survey will mainly cover two topics – mode of transport and destination of commuters. The National Institute of Technology-Calicut will provide technical assistance to the project. The survey has been necessitated, as the city bus facility, drawn up more than 15-20 years ago, had become obsolete, Mr. Malik said.
