New area mapping for Mumbai Naka police station

NASHIK: With Mumbai Naka becoming the central point of the city in the past decade and Kumbh Mela barely a few months away, parts of Bhadrakali, Sarkarwada, Indiranagar, Upanagar and Ambad police stations have been included in the proposed police station coming up in the area.
Senior police officers said detailed maps of the Mumbai Naka and Mhasrool police stations have been sent to the government and the city police commissionerate was awaiting a notification about the setting up of the two police stations.
Mumbai Naka has become the central point of the city since the past decade with several residential and commercial areas coming up in the vicinity along the highway. Keeping this in mind and the rise in population, the Mumbai Naka police station is coming up.
The officers said parts of Sarkarwada like the Mico Circle, Gadkari Chowk, Kalika Temple, Mumbai Naka traffic office, Suyash hospital, Tidke Colony, BSNL office and Kranti Nagar have been included in the Mumbai Naka police station. Besides, Govind Nagar and New Era high school, coming under the jurisdiction of the of the Ambad police, have been included in the new police station area. Areas such as JMCT Polytechnic College, Sacred Heart Convent high school, Ashok Universal school, Sainath Nagar, Bharat Nagar and Inayat Café, which are currently under the jurisdiction of the Indiranagar police station, have also been added to the Mumbai Naka police station. Areas from Bagranwadi, Happy Home Colony Tulsi Eye Hosptial, Guru Datta temple, Ashoka Buildcon office, Hotel Kamat, Shri Krushna Lawns from the Fame multiplex signal of the Upnagar police station have also been included in the new area.
Areas like Hotel Wasan Inn, Gurudwara Road, Hotel Kinara till Dwarka circle, as well as Kharbanda Park, Kathe Galli, till Nasardi Bridge of the Bhadrakali areas have also been included in the Mumbai Naka police station. On the other hand, the Mhasrool police station has been created from the existing Panchavati and Adgaon police stations. Parts like Audambar Lawns, Akshata Lawns along Rasbihari Link Road, K K Wagh Agriculture college, Mhasrool Adgaon Road, Bhujbal Knowledge City and different parts of Panchavati have been included in the new police station.
The Mumbai Naka police station will operate from the vacant building of the city traffic branch. The city police are also finalising sites for the new Mhasrool police station.
A senior officer said only two new police stations were currently coming up in the city. "For Kumbh Mela, we would set up nine temporary police posts across the city," he added.
