HYDERABAD: Raising objections over TRS partymen putting up flexis portraying Telangana chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao as Lord Shiva, Bajrang Dal and Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) activists lodged complaints with police on Tuesday.
On Shivaratri, TRS workers put up flexis in Saidabad, Madannapet and Kanchanbagh areas of Old City carrying Lord Shiva’s full length portrait in the human form.
However, they replaced Lord Shiva’s face with that of the party chief in the banners.
Perturbed by the depiction, Bajrang Dal activist D Srinivas and VHP activist Sudhir lodged separate complaints at Saidabad and Madannapet police stations alleging that TRS partymen had hurt the religious sentiments of Hindus.
“We have received complaints and legal advice is being sought about it. Meanwhile, the banners were removed by local people,” Malakpet ACP Ch Sudhakar said.
