A 40-year-old driver from Ennore was arrested on Sunday afternoon on charges of murdering a 58-year-old woman at Chinnamathur in Madhavaram Milk Colony.
The victim, Dhanalakshmi, would occasionally hire Sudarshan alias Nagesh (40) as a driver, but stopped using his services recently. Angered by the decision, Sudarshan arrived at the victim’s house on Sunday morning and stabbed her and her daughter, Vijayalakshmi, who was attempting to protect her mother, police said.
Dhanalakshmi died on the spot while Vijayalakshmi was admitted to hospital with knife wounds.
