Woman killed in accident

Lekha, 40, a temporary staff of the Kerala University office at Palayam, died after a mini-lorry rammed her two-wheeler from behind near Kesavadasapuram at 11 a.m. on Sunday. Lekha was thrown off her vehicle and she succumbed to her injuries while being taken to the medical college hospital here.

Helmet comes off

The collision was a minor one but she lost control of the vehicle.

She was wearing a helmet but it came off as she fell and she hit her head on the road, the police said.

The driver of the lorry rushed her to the hospital but she was declared brought dead.

The driver reported back to the police after this. A case has been registered against him. Lekha, a resident of Kallampally, near Sreekariyam, is survived by husband Shaji and a daughter.
