The functioning of Congress party, its organisational set up and the style of functioning of the party workers was a model at the national level, the All-India Congress Committee general secretary, Mukul Wasnik, has said.
Mr Wasnik, accompanied by Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee president V.M. Sudheeran was addressing a meeting of the party leaders in the district at the District Congress Committee office here on Monday.
He said the party would overcome the present challenging situation soon.
The BJP says there can be a discussion on the exclusion of secularism and this is a disastrous approach to the nation as a whole, he said.
Mr. Wasnik said that as far as Congress party was concerned, the nation is far higher than power.
The party should be strengthened to protect the interests of the country, he said.
The KPCC president inaugurated the meeting. DCC president P. Mohanraj presided over the function.
Revenue Minister Adoor Prakash, Municipal chairman A. Sureshkumar, District panchayat president Haridas Edathitta, Party leaders T. Saratchandraprasad, Pandalam Sudhakaran, V.D.Sathesan, Pazhakulam Madhu, A.Shasuddin, Johnson Abraham, Anto Antony, Abraham George Pachayil, Suresh Babu, Mariyamma Cherian, Vettoor Jyotiprasad, and Babu George, also attended the inaugural function.
