Three youth loot man, woman at gunpoint

Kanpur: Three motorcycle-borne men assaulted a grocery trader and a woman in Nayaganj area under Collectoragnj police station on Monday. They also took away cash, gold chain besides other valuables from them at gun point.
On Monday morning, Tillu Jaiswal, a grocery trader, a resident of Collectoragnj area, along with his family, was returning home after offering prayers at a temple nearby, when three youths on a two-wheeler stopped him on the pretext of asking an address.One among the miscreants pointed a gun at the woman accompanying him and snatched cash, jewellery, wrist-watch and a mobile phone from the duo.
Upon this, Jaiswal tried to offer resistance but the robbers opened fire in the air and threatened him with dire consequences and fled on the two-wheeler. Few locals tried to stop the robbers, but they threatened them by pointing a gun on them.
According to a senior police official, “The victims were too scared to react even as the locals raised an alarm. We are probing the possible involvement of local hoodlums. It seems the miscreants were monitoring Jaiswal’s movements and there is a possibility of an inside tip-off. A case in this regard has been registered and separate police teams are conducting raids to nab the miscreants.”
Whereas on Saturday night, three motorcycle-borne miscreants deprived an elderly woman of a gold chain in Jaghaipurwa area of Chakeri on Saturday.
