A suspected swine flu patient Kanchan Chaurasiya, 60, who was admitted in a private hospital on February 13, died on Monday morning. According to a private pathology, her reports came out to be positive for swine flu although an official confirmation is yet to come.

“The deceased patient was admitted in the hospital on February 13, showing symptoms of swine flu.
Her reports from a private pathology has confirmed that she was H1N1 carrier. The information has been sent to CMO’s office,” said CMS of the hospital Dr. Rajesh Agarwal.,
Chief medical officer (CMO) Dr RP Yadav said that as many as 12 samples of swine flu suspected patients has been sent to King George's Medical University (KGMU), Lucknow on Monday. The patients are being treated in different private and government hospitals of the city.
The CMO said Kanchan’s sample has also been sent to KGMU and anything concrete about swine flu could be said only after the report is received.
The CMO said that saliva samples of other patients have also been sent to KGMU.
“Two patients namely, Ramvati (50), Nishi (22), have been admitted in intensive care unit (ICU) of LLR hospital. Ahana Gupta (3) is getting treatment in Infectious Disease Hospital of LLR while rest of the patients are being treated in different private hospitals of the city. Their reports are expected to come by Tuesday evening. The doctors have already started necessary treatment,” he said.
When asked about the condition of 18-month-old Divyanshu Singh, suffering from swine flu, Dr. Yadav, said, “He is being treated under Dr. Yashwant Rao in Infectious Disease Hospital (IDH), and now he is showing signs of improvement”.
Till date, 32 suspected cases have been reported in the city. Out of these, three came out to be positive. Earlier, Apti Patel (2 years) had died of swine flu. A positive patient Divyanshu Singh is being treated under Dr. Yashwant Rao in the Infectious Disease Hospital. A total of 17 cases were found to be negative. Reports of 12 suspected patients are awaited.
