The lingering love in the air manifested itself at Deepak Cinema with five-minute movies screened back-to-back on February 11. These little nuggets were the brainchild of the guys at Terribly Tiny Tales (TTT), whose facebook page has garnered a massive following since its inception in 2013.

Popular for churning out tweet-sized tales, TTT has ruled social media through posts that are effectively verbose in thought but compact in structure. They have now pushed the boundaries of micro content by bringing their small idea to the big screen. A mélange of students, young professionals and the elderly assembled to watch the magic unfold. St. Xavier's student Sara David shared, "I've been following their posts on social media since a long time; I came to see how successful they've been in translating it onto the screen." Sharing her view, 26-year-old Manpreet Singh said, "We've gone from three-hour long movies to a mere hour and a half. To bring that down to five minutes is a real challenge and it'd be interesting to see how it's done."

The five films, El'ayichi, R.I.P (Romance in Peace), The Last Day, Bunny and Deuce, designed essentially for smaller screens, will release on the TTT facebook and YouTube page on Valentine's Day. The films portray different shades of love—from obsessive to passionate, friendly to strained—with the likes of Tom Alter, Mandira Bedi and Nimrat Kaur doing justice to the characters.

Naseerudin Shah along with wife Ratna Pathak Shah attended the screening, both appreciating the effort. "We're generally filled with dread when it comes to watching films made by youngsters, because kids try to make statements of cosmic importance through their movies," said Shah, "but it's great to see how making something that one truly believes in can result in such work."
"We're all about sharing great ideas in less words," said Anuj Gosalia, Founder, TTT, "Maybe we'd even venture into Terribly Tiny Tunes by musicians, who knows?" concluded Gosalia. Nothing so terrible about these tiny ideas, is there?
