B.Tech at Delhi University yet to fetch AICTE approval

As a part of the Four Year Undergraduate Program (FYUP) of DU, the Bachelor of Technology(B.Tech) course was introduced. The introduction of this course drew flak when the UGC directive was not followed by DU of taking the necessary approval from AICTE. DU needs to ensure that the institutes that have enrolled students under the program of FYUP take approval from the commission and the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).

25 DU Colleges have enrolled approximately 6,000 students under their 4 year program which includes Computer Science, Electronics, Food Technology, Instrumentation Electronics and Polymer Science. The degree which shall be awarded to these engineers might not hold any significance in India if not approved from AICTE.

February 20 is the last date to apply for AICTE approval.

What is AICTE approval?

The AICTE is an important and necessary mandate for a valid B.Tech course.

There have been several institutes in the past that have been shut due to invalid or no approval from the AICTE. In order to safeguard the life and career of so many young and bright minds.
