United CC wins Jai Baba Santokh Nath T20 trophy

SAMBA, Feb 15: United Cricket Club (UCC) got the better of Brigadier Rajinder Singh Cricket Club (BRSCC) by 4 wickets to win the title trophy of the T20 Cricket Tournament, organized by Jai Baba Santokh Nath Environment and Sports Welfare Committee at Pt. Prem Nath Cricket Stadium, Smailpur in Samba.
Earlier, winning the toss and batting first, BRSCC scored a meagre total of 97 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. Rinku top scored with 32 runs, while Nannu chipped in with 13 runs. Kala was the wrecker-in-chief for UCC, who took 4 important wickets in his 4 overs, while Kuldeep took 2 wickets.
In reply, United Cricket Club chased the target easily by losing 6 wickets, thus won the match by 4 wickets. Kuldeep was the top scorer with 22 runs, while Puneet contributed 18 runs to the winning cause. Anil took 4 wickets for BRSCC, while Veenu took 2 wickets. Kala was declared as man of the match for his brilliant contribution.
The matches in the Tournament were officiated by Anoop Singh, Dilawar, Raju, Rishu Manhas Anil Singh Dinesh Singh, Joginder Singh, Basant, Rohit, Vishwanand and Ranjit Singh.
Later-on, chief guests Sarpanch Smailpur, Balwant Singh and Deputy Commandant 38th Bn. CRPF, J P Sharma presented a cash prize of Rs.10000 to the winners and  Rs 5000 to the runners-up team.
