D. Mahi alias Mahendran (40), a farmer of Ongappadi village in Veppankuppam police station limits, who climbed a lamp post in the village to attend to a defect in power supply to a house, was electrocuted on Sunday morning. He came into contact with a live overhead high tension wire .
According to police sources, the residents of the village used to engage the services of Mahendran, an amateur electrician whenever there was a power failure in their houses. The Veppankuppam police are investigating.
