: Spiritual leader Mata Amritanandamayi will offer worship at the Lord Ayyappa temple at Sabarimala this year, Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) member Subhash Vasu has said.

Talking to The Hindu here on Sunday, Mr. Vasu said he had called on the Mata along with G. Mahesh, chief architect of the Chennai-based consultants of the Sabarimala Master Plan, Pithavadiyan and Partners Ltd., on Sunday.

She assured us that her Math would provide all help to the TDB in providing facilities at Sabarimala.

He said the Mata had emphasised on giving priority to cleanliness and hygiene at the temple and its vicinity during the two-month annual Mandalam-Makaravilakku pilgrim season. Availability of safe drinking water was another major requirement at the pilgrim centre, she said.

Mr. Vasu said the Math was ready to provide bio-toilets at various nodal points of the pilgrimage if the TDB gave clearance. — Special Correspondent
