SHIMLA: Senior BJP leader Prem Kumar Dhumal today alleged that Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh was misleading people over the release of MNREGA funds and said the Centre has released all the money to the state.
Dhumal said that the Centre had not only released funds under MNREGA but also sanctioned several schemes which were "stalled" by UPA government.

"Instead of expressing gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Singh was putting the blame on the Centre," he said.

The former chief minister said that following reports of irregularities in implementation of MNREGA in some states during the UPA regime, the Union government had started asking for submission of completion report 'online' for 60 per cent work done under the scheme, and the funds of the states which failed to submit the report were withheld and the labour was not being paid.

However, funds for Himachal Pradesh have been released, he said.

"The Chief Minister was misleading the people to hide the failures of the government and the Centre had not only released funds under MNREGA but also sanctioned several schemes," Dhumal said in a statement here today.
