Dressed in ‘Mohini Avataram’, the processional deity of Lord Sri Kalyana Venkateswara Swamy was taken out in a grand procession during the auspicious ‘Pallaki Utsavam’, on the fifth day of the ongoing annual Brahmotsavams at Srinivasa Mangapuram, here on Saturday.

In connection with the fête, presiding deity of Sri Kalyana Venkateswara Swamy received two precious jewels, ‘Seema Kamalalu’ and ‘Kempu Sankha-Chakralu’, from the coffers of Tirumala.

The jewels, valued around Rs.15.28 lakh, were formally handed over to TTD Joint Executive Officer (Tirupati) Pola Bhaskar by Tirumala Temple’s Deputy Executive Officer C. Ramana, during the ‘Shobha Yatra’ of Lakshmi Kasula Haram.

‘Shobha Yatra’

‘Shobha Yatra’, which began from the TTD’s administrative building, lead by mesmerising performances of various artistes, passed through important streets of Tirupati, amid tight security arrangements before reaching Srinivasa Mangapuram. It was then received by Temple's Deputy Executive Officer E.C. Sreedhar in a traditional custom at the entrance of the temple. The Lakshmi Kasula Haram, Jewels and the sacred Andal Goda Devi garlands were used to decorate the processional deity of Sri Kalyana Venkateswara Swamy on the occasion of ‘Garuda Vahana Seva’, which was held from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Meanwhile, the processional deity of Lord Kapileswara Swamy, accompanied by Goddess Parvati, was taken out on ‘Adhikara Nandi Vahanam’, as a part of the ongoing annual Brahmotsavams of Sri Kapileswara Swamy Temple, in the morning.
