Karate kids of Ahmedabad shine at Nationals

Not many talk of undertake karate lessons in the city but karate kids of Ahmedabad did the state proud when they took part in the 27th All-India Karate Do Federation Karate meet.

AHMEDABAD: Not many talk of undertake karate lessons in the city but karate kids of Ahmedabad did the state proud when they took part in the 27th All-India Karate Do Federation Karate meet held in Jaipur recently.
The brave hearts picked up as many as six gold, four silver and six bronze medals at the end of the tournament.
In the under-nine age category, Yash Vaghela took the gold in Kumite event while picking up silver in Kata event.
Dev Vora had to settle for a bronze in Kata event.
In 11-12 years category, Vikrant Kuavat won gold in Kumite event while picking a bronze in Kata event.
In 14-15 years category, Nishi Patel won gold in Kumite while Kushal Shah won gold in Kumite, silver in team Kata and bronze in individual Kata events. In 16-17 years category, Kevin Shah won gold in Kumite while picking silver in team Kata event.Mansi Chavda had to settle for bronze in Kumite event.
In 18+ years category, Shrushti Patel won gold in Kumite event while picking a bronze in team Kata event. Kinnari Joshi picked silver in Kumite event while Kunal Joshi got a bronze in Kumite. The team is coached by Sensei Hreeday Bhatt and Sensei Purvang Nayak.
