JAMMU, Feb 13: General Administration Department today asked all the Financial Commissioners, Administrative Secretaries and Deputy Commissioners to strictly adhere to the guidelines of the Jammu and Kashmir (Compassionate Appointment) Rules, 1994 and submit detailed action taken report on pending SRO-43 cases by or before February 18.
“It has been observed that most of the Administrative Departments/ Deputy Commissioners are referring the compassionate appointment cases to the GAD after considerable period of time from the death of the family member”, GAD observed in the circular, adding sometimes these cases are deficient in respect of requisite documents, which lead to further delay in the settlement of cases.
Stating that Governor has viewed seriously prolonged delays in processing of such cases, the GAD has enjoined upon all the Financial Commissioners, Administrative Secretaries and Deputy Commissioners to strictly adhere to the guidelines of the Jammu and Kashmir (Compassionate Appointment) Rules, 1994 and take review of the pendency of all SRO-43 cases in their departments and subordinate offices as on January 1, 2015.
“It must be ensured that the cases are finalized within a period of 120 days failing which the responsibility for delay should be fixed and action taken against the delinquent officers and officials”, GAD said in the circular.
The GAD has sought detailed action taken report in this regard by or before February 18 so that Governor is apprised accordingly.
