APUWJ condemns top cop’s remarks on media

Members of the Andhra Pradesh Union of Working Journalists (APUWJ), Krishna Urban Unit, and Vijayawada Press Club condemned City Police Commissioner A.B. Venkateswara Rao’s comments on the media.

‘False reports’

While trying to explain the facts to the media on the case related to ‘police attack on two students’ Mr. Rao in a statement alleged that a section of media who do not have ability to do investigative journalism, zeal and right thinking were indulging in giving false reports and in the process, doing injustice to the society.

Scribes take strong exception to remarks

Andhra Pradesh UWJ State vice-president Ambati Anjaneyulu, State executive member Chava Ravi, Krishna Urban Unit president G. Rama Rao and Press Club president K. Jayaraj, in a statement issued here on Thursday, took strong objection to the Commissioner’s comments on the print and electronic media.
