This production by Akshara Theatre is a take on the recently concluded assembly election in Delhi. The English comedy, written and directed by Gopal Sharman, makes fun of politicians, political parties and news channels. The caricatures include Jharoowal, Nation Goswami, Firan, Mama and Raoul—no one is spared.

A Requiem, A Prayer, A Song

Curated by Ina Puri, best known for her biography of artist Manjit Bawa, the show is dedicated to the legendary artist Rajendra Dhawan. It includes works by Indian artists like S.H. Raza, Ganesh Haloi and Achuthan Kudallur, and Pakistani artist Mohammad Ali Talpur.

Tracing Art Through A Century

To celebrate its 25th anniversary, Gallerie Ganesha is showing works by 35 artists, including Alok Uniyal, A. Ramachandran, Avijit Dutta, Badri Narayan, Devdatta Padekar, Jamini Roy and M.K. Parandekar. Folk and tribal art by master artists such as Jangarh Singh Shyam is also being exhibited.

Working Space: Around Memory and Perception

Fifteen artists from South Asia are displaying their works, which explore architectural elements, built environments and physical spaces. The artists exhibiting include Anish Kapoor, Nalini Malani, Dilip Chobisa, Jeram Patel and Manisha Parekh.

Dastkar Basant 2015

The sixth edition of Dastkar Basant showcases regional handloom weaves like Maheshwari, Kota, Ikat and Bandhani, along with block-printed textiles in the Ajrakh, Bagru and Dabu styles. The highlights include hand-spun cotton handlooms, carved leather bags and decorative clay items from Ethiopia.

Mahindra Blues Festival

In its fifth year, the Mahindra Blues Festival will feature multiple Grammy Award winner Buddy Guy and his teenage protégé Quinn Sullivan. Others in the line-up include Nikki Hill, Danish singer Thorbjørn Risager and his band The Black Tornado, Doyle Bramhall II, and Rich Robison of The Black Crowes.

The Verdi Requiem

The Symphony Orchestra of India will enthrall listeners with Verdi’s operatic piece The Requiem under conductor Yuri Simonov. More than 100 members of the UK’s Bournemouth Symphony Chorus will perform, as will a quartet of soloists.
