February 12, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:35 am IST - GURGAON:

The Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon (MCG) is mulling to create Wi-Fi zones on Mehrauli-Gurgaon Road and at Sadar Bazar here. The tenders have already been floated to select the internet service provider.

An MCG official said that the service would be available free of cost for the first 15-30 minutes .

MCG Commissioner Vikas Gupta said Gurgaon has developed as an industrial and financial centre of Haryana over the past few years with third highest per capita income following Chandigarh and Mumbai.

According to MCG officials, the two locations have been selected as they receive the maximum footfall.

The technical details of the project will be decided at an MCG meeting on February 23.

Initially, users will be able to enjoy a minimum speed for 2mbps which will be further increased.
