TORONTO -- New captain Michael Bradley and Italian star Sebastian Giovinco were on the practice field together for the first time with Toronto FC on Wednesday.

The MLS club now has almost everyone at its disposal. The only players missing were Brazilian midfielder Jackson, whose wife just gave birth, and forward Gilberto, who is in Brazil awaiting a move.

Striker Jozy Altidore was held out of practice, to do some baseline fitness testing on his first day.

Head coach Greg Vanney was happy at the up-tempo practice under the bubble in the team's practice facility.

The only slight note of discontent came from former captain Steven Caldwell. While the veteran Scottish defender expressed support for Bradley, he said the switch could have been handled better.

The team returns to Florida next week for warm-weather training.
