Peeping Tom Ford: The designer whips up a sexy new eye style

With less than 24 hours before his spring 2015 show, Tom Ford realized his models needed a major smoky-eye look. Something kohl and rock ’n’ roll to go with the slinky and louche runway looks. His lab swiftly mixed up a pot of a super-sexy graphite eye cream (with a metallic hint) that was shared by the 19 makeup artists working backstage. Now the brand is offering their custom creation in a limited-edition online offering. The new Cream Color For Eyes “Spring 2015” shade, $42, is available now on tomford.com and later this month via neimanmarcus.com and bergdorfgoodman.com.

Makeup artist Philippe Chansel, who worked backstage at the show, explained how to create Chrissie Hynde-style eyes with the new formula: Apply the cream on lids using an eye shadow/concealer brush, working from the inner corners and blending out. Next, line the top and bottom lash lines and inner rims with a Tom Ford Eye Defining Pencil in “Onyx.” Finish with the line’s Extreme Mascara in “Raven.”
