JP Associates, Power Grid, Nalco in Focus Today

  1. National Aluminium Company reported strong earnings for the third quarter of FY15 yesterday; its net profit surged 171 per cent year-on-year to Rs 355 crore, while its revenue increased 16 per cent to Rs 1,906 crore.
  2. Jaiprakash Associates reported disappointing earnings for the Q3 of FY15 on the back of higher interest costs. Its adjusted net loss came in at Rs 597 crore against Rs 124 crore loss last fiscal. Its revenue fell 18 per cent year-on-year to Rs 2,583 crore.
  3. ACC has resumed mining operation at its Chaibasa, Jharkhand unit, which it had closed by order of the Supreme Court earlier. Closure of these mines was the key reason for weak December quarter earnings, analysts say.
  4. DLF has appointed investment bankers to advise it on a planned listing of Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs). The company plans to list two REITs, as early as next fiscal year.
  5. National Buildings Construction Corporation has bagged orders worth Rs 231.4 crore for project management works from IIT Roorkee.
  6. Asian Paints: Its Singapore subsidiary, Berger International Ltd. has signed an agreement to acquire 51 per cent stake in Kadisco Paint, Ethiopia for $18.95 million.

  8. Power Grid Corporation of India will report its earnings for the Q3 of FY15 today; it is likely to report a net profit of Rs 1,242 crore on sales of Rs 4,350 crore, according to analysts polled by NDTV.
  9. Voltas will report its earnings for the December quarter of 2014 today; it is likely to report a net profit of Rs 59 crore on sales of Rs 1,113 crore, according to analysts polled by NDTV.
  10. Power Finance Corporation, NCC, Escorts, Bata India, India Cements, Syndicate Bank, Hathway Cable & Datacom will report their earnings today.
