Ankleshwar model to prevent erosion mooted

February 11, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:44 am IST - VISAKHAPATNAM:

VUDA Vice-Chairman T. Baburao Naidu made an inspection of the Kursura Submarine museum to decide on the repair and renovation work to be taken up as well as beautification.

He told Chief Engineer B. Jayarami Reddy to examine the feasibility of the techniques suggested by a professor of Geo-Technical Engineering of Andhra University Satyanarayana Reddy as they were implemented at Ankleshwar beach of Gujarat.

Besides taking steps to prevent erosion of the beach, eco-friendly material should be used in beautification, he told officials. Further support to the keel by adding one more block at front side of the museum, replacing metal plates at nine points and improving greenery were chosen as priority items. Since the maintenance of the Submarine museum is expensive, Mr. Naidu asked officials to take steps to increase revenue.

Deputy Officer in charge of the Submarine Maintenance Unit of ENC Commander Rajesh and VUDA Executive Engineer G. Kalpana and Satyanarayana Reddy were present.
