The Uganda National examinations board has confirmed that there was an error in the just released senior four exam results for Technical Drawing.
The UNEB public relations officer Hamis Kaheru says the error arose during computation of marks and affected the grading system to the detriment of the affected candidates.
Mr Kaheru says they have now rectified the error and new results print-outs will be issued to the affected examination centers.
He notes that the Board, as usual, issued a circular alongside the results, asking heads of Centre, to study and analyses the results carefully and report any complaints or errors for correction by 27th February 2015.
This was prompted by a public outcry from schools on the recently released 2014 Uganda Certificate of Education results that Technical Drawing (TD) marks were found to be erratic across the country.
The suspicion was reinforced by the fact that students with distinction score in all other subjects only failed TD.
This is not the first time such a problem is occurring in regard to TD. It happened sometime back and UNEB sorted it out.
