ABVP to hold youth festival from today

The Akhila Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) unit of Telangana University, would conduct a week-long youth festival Vivek Yuva Fest-2015 on the campus at Dichpally from Tuesday. The valedictory function would be held on February 18, according to campus in-charge J. Pandu.

As part of the youth festival, games and cultural programmes would be conducted. Competitions would be held in volleyball, tenny-koit (mixed doubles) and for girls, badminton (mixed doubles) and chess for girls and boys, athletics in 100 metres, 800 metres, shot put, long jump and javelin throw.

Competitions will also be conducted in essay writing, elocution, patriotic songs singing, rangoli, quiz and painting.

Students any affiliated college can register their names by paying Rs.500 for participation.

Superintendent of Police would inaugurate the competitions and BJP State president G. Kishan Reddy is likely to come for the valedictory, said Pandu.

Sangareddy Staff Reporter adds: ‘Pramana-2K15’, the techno-management fest of GITAM University, Hyderabad campus, will be held on February 13 and14.

According to Prof. N. Siva Prasad, Director, GITAM School of Technology, as a mix of both technical and management events like technical quiz, auto quiz, cad-o-mania, robomania, green brain, entrepreneur ideas, scrolla, B-quiz and B-plan.

Workshops, paper presentation, poster presentation; spot events like spell bee, sports quiz, hunt for a click, get amazed, cultural events like singing, ramp walk, dance and rock band consort will go on as per the schedule during the two day fest. Sunburn, India’s premier electronic music brand hosting Asia’s largest three-day electronic music festival in Goa, is one of the sponsors to this event.
