Ganesh Venkatram's filmy proposal to Nisha

Ganesh Venkatram is officially engaged and the lucky girl is Nisha Krishnan, a TV anchor. The two have been dating steadily for the last few years and on Sunday evening, the two finally put a ring on it.
Talking to Chennai Times, an elated Ganesh gives out details of how it all happened. 'We first met on the set of a TV show called Enga Veetu Kalyanam. I was supposed to co-host the show with her, but I couldn't continue after a few episodes due to my film commitments.Ironically, the show was about engaged couples planning their wedding. It seems so filmy now if I think of it. Kala master is the one who actually played Cupid without even knowing it, because she was the one who selected me for the show.'
So, how did the proposal happen? 'It sounds clich'd to say it, but it was very filmy. It was Christmas season last year and we were driving down ECR when we spotted a beautiful church. It was entirely done up with decorations and the whole atmosphere was very divine. So, we were on our knees and praying when it struck me that the moment was just perfect to propose. So, I asked her to marry me and luckily she said yes. Just after that, it was like a divine intervention of sorts, because the altar boys came in to get the church ready for mass and they were singing Hallelujah! It was like the whole universe had conspired to make it happen,' he gushes.
Although the engagement was formalized last Sunday, the wedding is set to take place only later this year. 'We are planning a wedding in November and will announce the dates soon,' he signs off.
