Valentine's Day is just around the corner and you must be wondering how to make the day memorable and romantic.

From breathtaking locations to adventure spots, there are quite a few places in an around the Garden City of India, Bengaluru, where you can go this Valentine's Day.

Nandi Hills

Known for its early morning sunrise view and soothing climate, Nandi hills, in the Chikkaballapur district of Karnataka state is just 60 km from Bengaluru.

 Wayanad

The north-eastern district of Kerala, which shares border with Tamil Nadu and Karnataka, is one of the best tourist spots in the state. With jungles and deep valleys, Wayanad is famous for its wildlife santuary, Edakkal caves and many other resorts like Vythiri Village Resort and Banasura Hill Resort, among others. It's a six-hour drive (289.7 km) from Bengaluru, via NH212 and NH209.

Coorg

With many home stays and resorts, Coorg or Kodagu district will be a suitable location if you love to spend some quality time with your loved one, between coffee plantations. Talakaveri, Bhagamandala, Nisargadhama, Abbey Falls, Dubare, Nagarahole National Park, Iruppu Falls, and the Tibetan Buddhist Golden Temple are the other tourist attractions of the district.

Mysore

Known for its rich heritage and beautiful landmarks, Mysore is one of the must-visit tourist locations in India. Mysore Palace, Chamundi Hills, St. Philomena's Church, Brindavan Gardens,  Srirangapatna and Somanathapura will be the perfect spots to spend time on Valentine's Day.

Muthathi

If you like to enjoy the serene beauty of nature, Muthathi - which is around 100 km from Bengaluru, will be the best option. Surrounded by a dense forest and Kaveri river, private boating arrangements are also organised here by the forest department.

Shivanasamudra

Located on the banks of the river Kaveri, Shivanasamudra Falls is one of the best waterfalls in Karnataka. To reach this place, you just need to drive three hours from Bengaluru City.

Hogenakkal

Known as "Niagara of India", Hogenakkal Falls - located in the Dharmapuri district in Tamil Nadu - is famous for its adventurous water rides. It is about 180 km (110 mi) from Bengaluru. Riding in coracles, the bowl-shaped bamboo boats are the main attractions of Hogenakkal. 

Pondicherry

Pondicherry or Puducherry, famous for its colonial buildings, churches, temples, and statues also has numerous beaches where you can spend time with your special one. It will just take around six hours (374.2 km) via NH 46 and SH 5 to reach from Bengaluru.

Trekking Locations

If you like to go on adventurous trips with your love, there are numerous trekking locations in and around the garden city. 

Brahmagiri Hills, Pushpagiri Hills and Tadiyandamol Peak near Coorg, Kumara Parvatha and Yedakumeri near Mangalore, Kudumari / Chaktikal Waterfalls, Hidlumane Falls, Kodachadri and Koosalli Waterfalls near Murudeshwar as well as Barkana Falls, Kudlu Theertha Falls, Onake Abbi Falls near Udupi are some of the best spots for trekking in the state.
