JOIN USThe Transport department recently checked private buses near Yelahanka, Doddaballapur, Devanahalli, Rajankunte, Mekhri Circle, Majestic, Mysore Bank Circle and surrounding areas for illegal operation and violation of permit conditions.
Around 50 such vehicles operating on various permits were seized and sent to the Doddaballapur Police Station and Yelahanka RTO premises. Some of these vehicles were holding Stage Carriage Permits and Contract Carriage Permits, while some were public service vehicles.
Seeing the Enforcement Squads, drivers fled the scene, causing hardship to the passengers. Alternate transport arrangements were made by the department. The drive was headed by Narendra Holkar Joint Commissioner for Transport, Bengaluru, and a team of Enforcement Officers.
