The city police ruled out the links between ‘Shame the Rapist Campaign’ launched by activist Sunitha Krishnan and the attack on her in which her car was damaged on Friday.

The police are questioning four persons who were present at the parking lot near her office at Charminar bus stand when the car’s broken windshield was noticed. After the Friday’s incident, Ms. Krishnan’s campaign gained widespread attention. On their part, the police ruled out any connection between the stone pelting incident and the two rape videos posted as part of the campaign.

“Chances of those persons who are seen in the videos involving in the attack are remote. It’s difficult for any person from other State to come to the city just to attack her,” DCP (South) V. Satyanarayana told The Hindu , adding that some persons unhappy with Ms. Krishnan’s work in rescuing and rehabilitating women could have damaged her car.

Two special teams have been formed to investigate the case.

Meanwhile, the Cyber Crime Cell of Hyderabad city police is investigating the content of the video clips uploaded by Ms. Krishnan to identify the persons.
