Students Bragadeeswaran, Hari Krishnan and Sharat Chandra of GKD Matriculation Higher Secondary School bagged the first prize in the third edition of the Murugappa Kovai Quotient Quiz – 2015 at PSG College of Arts and Science here, on Saturday.
The team from this school has won the championship for the second time in a row.
Team Rocking Quizzers comprising Jeevesh, Ashwat Sibi and Naresh of Vidya Niketan Public School and team Quizzically Impaired comprising Akash Kumar, Muhilan and Siddharth Pratap of PSBB Millennium School were the runners-up.
A total of 810 students of schools in and around Coimbatore, Nilgiris, Erode and Tirupur participated in the written preliminary round, from which six teams were short listed for the grand finale.
Members of the audience who actively answered questions put by quizmaster Navin Jayakumar also won interesting prizes.
K.R. Chandrasekaran, Chief Operating Officer of TI Cycles India and Sreeram Srinivasan, President and Executive Director of Shanthi Gears Ltd., handed over the prizes to the winners.
