Karapur-Sarvan sarpanch faces no-trust move

BICHOLIM: Seven members of the Karapur-Sarvan village panchayat have tabled a motion of no-confidence against the sarpanch Aaryan Gaonkar on Thursday.
The notice has been sent to the directorate of municipal administration (DMA) and a copy has been forwarded to Bicholim BDO office.
The seven members who have signed the motion included Rajesh Naik, Mahesh Sawant, Jayanti Naik, Divya Kharkande, Keshav Mayekar, Mukund Vaigankar and Shammi Banu Rasulmadar.
The 11-member panchayat has been divided into two groups.The other group has four members, including sarpanch Aaryan Gaonkar and panch members Dhiraj Sawant, Sacchit Sawant and Deepak Dhawaskar.
