Surendra Rakesh Uttrakhand Minister died of cancer
Surendra Rakesh died on February 7, battling Cancer
The current MLA of Bhagwanpur, Uttarakhand Surendra Rakesh passed away in the wee hours of February 7 after losing his battle against cancer.
He was admitted to the hospital on October 14, 2014 and was on medication for over a year. The 48 year-old Surendra Rakesh breathed his last at 9:30 am as per the hospital sources. He is survived by his wife, a son and a daughter.
He was a BSP MLA from Haridwar's Bhagwanpur constituency and was the Transport and Social Welfare Minister in Harish Rawat's government.
He was diagnosed with lung cancer in July 2013. The CM Harish Rawat expressed his sympathy towards Surendra Kumar's family and cancelled all his official meetings scheduled for the day he will himself receive his body, which will be brought to Bhagwanpur for last rites.
