Asma Gul brings laurels

JAMMU, Feb 6: The first girl from Kargil,  Asma Gul brought laurels to the State of Jammu and Kashmir by winning the National Scholarship in theatre from Centre for Cultural Resources and Training, Ministry of Culture, Government of India to undergo theatre training under celebrated theatre director, Padamshree Balwant Thakur.
Daughter of Abdul Gaffar Zarger and Hawa Bee, this young girl of 4th standard created history by competing for this prestigious honour and winning it in a competition of thousands of young talents at All India Level.
This rarest National Scholarship covers a cash Award of Rupees 12,600 per annum to cover her training expenses and the same she will be entitled to receive this till she attains the age of 20 provided she continue to excel in the field of Theatre Acting.
Asma Gul started doing theatre in Natrang’s annual Children Theatre Camp and participated in the play ‘Party To Banti Hai’ under the direction of Sumeet Sharma. Later she participated in the plays like ‘Dadi Maa Ki Kahani’ ‘Birbal Ki Khidi’ and Laakh Ki Naak’ under the direction of Aarushi Thakur and Neeraj Kant.
