How Krish got the chance to direct Gabbar
Having completed shooting for Gabbar, director Krish looks set to make a splash nationally this summer, when the Akshay Kumar starrer hits the screens. There is an interesting backstory to how Krish bagged his maiden Hindi film. Apparently, Sanjay Leela Bhansali called on Krish with a proposal to remake Gamyam in Hindi.
Its true. Sanjay was impressed with my film Gamyam and had a few discussions about remake it in Hindi but it did not materialise, confessed Krish.
Sanjay though was impressed with Krishs filmmaking chops and offered him the chance to direct Gabbar which is a remake of Ramana which released in Telugu as Tagore. I was thrilled to be offered the film. I took it up as a challenge and loved working on it, says Krish who has been living in Mumbai for the last couple of years to complete shooting for the movie.
