We believe you have fond memories of Hyderabad...
Well, I do and I have quite a few friends out here, and this time I'm here for the wedding of a close friend's son. Let me share a secret: My husband (Himalaya Dasani) and I were school mates and not many know that it was our school trip that brought us to Hyderabad together.
We visited Charminar, Salarjung Museum and many other places. Himalaya stood in front of the statue of Maharana Pratap at Salarjung and said, `Us zamane `Us zamane mein aisi ladai hoti thi and waise hoti thi' and I was just wow! That's how I got talking to him and later he proposed to me during the trip itself. So, yes, the city holds a very special place in my life. I remember shooting for a few films in the past, so the experience has always been memorable.
So what keeps you busy apart from your last TV soap Laut Aao Trisha...
I was dedicated to Laut Aao...which used to take 10 hours of my time. I had to balance my personal as well as professional life and hence, I didn't take up anything else. After Maine Pyar Kiya, everybody wanted to take Suman home, but after seeing this soap, a lot of people came up and told me, `Ek maa aur patni Amrita jaisi honi chahiye'. So, working on TV was great, but I didn't want to do a show which will drag the story and bore the viewers.

There was buzz that Salman Khan might launch your son Abhimanyu in Bollywood...
Nothing has been finalised yet.I keep telling Abhimanyu that it's very important to be sincere, focused and dedicated towards your work. He has to be prepared before he jumps into this industry and I make him watch lot of films to understand cinema and pick up tips from veteran actors.
You're still remembered as Maine Pyar Kiya's Suman. Does that haunt you now?
I'm happy to be remembered as Suman, because that movie made me what I am today . A lot of people who meet me today , say, `Aap abhi tak waisi hi dikhti hai jaisi ap Maine Pyar Kiya mein dikhti thi.' I take it as a compliment. And my kids are very proud that they have a young and sexy mother (laughs).
So what's your mantra to be so fit and in shape?
I guess everybody does a lot of hard work to be fit, but it all depends on what's your diet and what you eat. And it's very important to be happy you know, which I am today. Also, I eat correct food at the right time; I work out and do yoga regularly. And when you are healthy inside, you don't fall sick or have to take extra protein supplements and stuff.
Do you miss the stardom?
I think it's a phase in life where you feel that this could have had happened, and that could have had happened, and I could have done this and that. But then, there are other things that become more important in your life. If I was ambitious, probably I wouldn't have gotten married so early and wouldn't have had such cute kids. Also, I wouldn't have had time to travel all over the world with my family the way I do. I'm in a very happy space right now and glad that I'm still acting.
You have done a few Telugu films in the past. Anything happening in near future...
Well, I would love to do more Telugu films because the kind of subjects on which movies are made here are more diverse and interesting than Bollywood. And then, we have so many South film remakes happening in Bollywood, so why not? I have been offered a lovely comedy film, and I'm contemplating doing it.
