A captain’s knock by Dheeraj Jadhav (73 not out) saved Assam’s blushes on the opening day of the Group ‘C’ Ranji Trophy match against Kerala at the Thalassery Cricket Stadium here on Friday.
Assam, which won the toss, ended the day at 197 for four. It was his unbroken fifth-wicket stand of 56 with Tarjinder Singh (24 not out) that ensured that the first day did not belong entirely to the host.
