Back in East Delhi’s Krishna Nagar, where he is fondly remembered by people for his work, Union Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan is more than sure of his party and its CM candidate Kiran Bedi romping home. “I am more than 100 per cent sure of BJP’s victory and that of Kiran Bedi ji,” Dr Vardhan told The Hindu .
Dr. Vardhan has represented the Krishna Nagar seat in Delhi Assembly five times in a row.
The Chandni Chowk MP won the seat with over 45,000 votes during the last elections when he was named the party’s CM candidate.
Leading a massive rally in Krishna Nagar constituency minutes before Ms Bedi joined the cavalcade; he said he would want voters to transform their love and faith into votes.
“I have to only tell the people of Krishna Nagar and also the entire Delhi to transform the love and faith they have shown in us into votes on February 7. I want them to reach the polling station on February 7 right in the morning and vote for us,” he said.
The BJP leader was welcomed by people with garlands. Men and women came out of their houses and showered him with flowers and garlands. People in Krishna Nagar said they remember Dr. Vardhan for his work. Some said they believe equally in Ms. Bedi.
Known in his constituency for being accessible, Dr. Vardhan has a strong following in the constituency which the party is hoping would work in Ms. Bedi’s favour.
