Body found in Mankhurd: 3 held for murder
MUMBAI: Over a week after a charred body was found in Mankhurd, three people have been arrested for allegedly killing Shafique Ashfak (23) over a monetary dispute. The accused have been identified as Nagma (23), her ex-husband Sarvar Shaikh (24), and his associate Shoaib Shaikh (22).
The body was found in a pit used as a dump. DCP Sangramsingh Nishandar said the only clue they had was a scooter found near the body.

The owner of this scooter, brother of the deceased, identified Ashfak. He told the police that Shafique was married thrice and one of his wives, Nagma, lived nearby. The police picked up Nagma who admitted to the murder as Ashfak refused to return Rs 5 lakh he had borrowed from her.
On January 24, Nagma asked Ashfak to come home. Sarvar, who was at her house, hit Ashfak with a bat and strangled him with a lungi, said a police officer. “Later, Sarvar and his friend Shoiab disposed of the body in the pit in the wee hours.”
