DPRK FM Sends Letters to UN Secretary-General and UNGA Session President
Pyongyang, February 4 (KCNA) -- DPRK Foreign Minster Ri Su Yong on Jan. 2 sent a letter separately to the secretary-general of the UN and the president of the 69th Session of the UN General Assembly in connection with the fact that Sin Tong Hyok, a "defector from the north", recently confessed that his "testimony" was a fabrication.

The U.S. and other hostile forces let Sin take the lead in the anti-DPRK "human rights" racket even in the UN arena.

The letter said Sin confessed himself before the international community that his "testimony" was a fabrication so the basis for the "human rights resolution" on the DPRK adopted at the 69th session of the UNGA has collapsed and that it proved the utterly unjust nature of the U.S. and other hostile forces' act of bringing in Sin and the likes to the UN arena, organizing the anti-DPRK "hearing" and railroading the "human rights resolution".

However, those who cooked up the fraudulent document including the former chairman of the "Commission of Inquiry" on the human rights situation in the DPRK are spreading the sophism that the "report of the COI on human rights" against the DPRK is based on the "testimonies" of hundreds of "defectors from the north" and Sin's is only a part of them, the letter said, adding that "if they manage to present the list of that hundreds of 'testifiers' they claim to have interviewed, we are ready to reveal to the whole world the true identifies of each and every one of them and the crimes committed and the lies told by them one by one."

The letter said that "in such a case, it will be more evident that the UN arena where the impartiality and objectivity become the principles of activities was misused for the anti-DPRK 'human rights' racket and this will result in deeply undermining the confidence the UN enjoys", and added the anti-DPRK "human rights resolution" of the UN at issue was made up based on falsehood from A to Z and that the initiators of the "resolution" should be held accountable for making the countries that supported the "resolution" fall for the lies.

The DPRK foreign minister in the letter proposed the followings to the UN secretary-general and the UNGA session president:

1. As the UN arena was reduced to a theatre of anti-DPRK "human rights" racket, I hope Your Excellencies will engage yourselves in correcting the situation and, for the immediate future, let all the member states of the UN know that the "resolution" adopted at the 69th session of the UNGA is an unlawful one falsely brought up and adopted based on the fabricated information and take due measures to revoke the "resolution".

2. The initiators of the "resolution" including the EU and Japan have colluded to forcibly adopt the "resolution" by concocting frauds and falsehoods from the beginning and they have not interviewed even a single DPRK citizen while doing so. I hope Your Excellencies will urge them to admit this fact by themselves and to apologize for it to the international community.

The letter noted that it was a mockery of and an insult to the UN to frame up the "resolution" based on lies and fabrications, adding that if the "resolution" framed up by the hostile forces with information which was fully proven to be false before the international community is withdrawn, the DPRK is willing to actively engage itself in talks and cooperation in the field of human rights.
